Detect fugitive emissions

Fugitive emissions are harmful to humans and the environment. They are released during the vaporization or incomplete combustion of petroleum products and other organic substances, such as petrol, paint, glue products and cleaning products. Examples of fugitive emissions are ammonia, pentane, acetone, propane and butane. Prolonged contact with these fugitive emissions can cause respiratory tract irritation, eye irritation, headache, nausea, heart problems and nervous system damage.

Emission detection robot

The emissions are mainly released in the oil & gas industry. Do you process fugitive emissions in your factory or production facility and do you want to identify and reduce these emissions? With the emission detection robot from ExRobotics you can detect fugitive emissions. It's a vital tool in the battle to reduce fugitive emissions of methane, benzene and other gases. By using robots, dangerous factories and production facilities can be investigated. The robot that can detect these fugitive emissions, is the Emissions Detector.

Detecting low levels of fugitive emissions

The Emissions Detector operates with no human intervention. It can detect fugitive emissions at low levels. The robot is kept permanently on location on its docking station which continuously charges its batteries. It performs daily autonomous missions during which the robot follows pre-planned routes. If the robot detects a fugitive emission, the robot will automatically send an alarm to a safe control room. The control room is manned by an operator. When the alarm is raised, the robot automatically forwards the location where the fugitive emission has been detected. Then, the control room operator can take action and reduce or limit the fugitive emissions.

Leading expert in developing reliable robots

Meet ExRobotics, the leading expert in developing rugged and reliable robots for harsh environments that require an ATEX/IECEx Zone 1 certification. Currently, we mainly focus on customers in the oil and gas industry. Our robots can be equipped with different features and functionalities, so the robot can be used for different purposes. This led to the four robots Emissions Detector, First Responder, Co-Operator and Inspector. Our robots are the new benchmark for inspecting and surveying potentially explosive facilities. They are equipped with a range of sensors and cameras that communicate with a driver or operator, who are located in a control room.
