Robot operator
Do you work in a factory or production facility that works with fugitive emissions? Do you work at a production location where there is a risk of explosion? Or do you have a machine park and do you want to increase machine safety? Create a safe working environment for your operators and rely on the robotic solutions of ExRobotics. Our robots are rugged and reliable and can be used for harsh environments that require an ATEX and IECEx Zone 1 certification.
Remote-controlled robots
ExRobotics was founded in 2017 by Iwan de Waard and Ian Peerless. They both had several years of experience developing robots for potentially explosive environments. They have united their knowledge of robotization and remote-controlled robots in ExRobotics. In 2017, Iwan and Ian developed the first remote-controlled robot, called ExR-1. This led to the four robots First Responder, Emissions Detector, Co-Operator and Inspector. The robots are built modular and can be equipped with various features and functionalities, such as a camera, gas detection, infrared detection, heat detection and a sound map. By building the robots in a modular way, they can be used for various purposes. ExRobotics is currently developing the ExR-2 robot.
Certified for use in IECEx and ATEX Zone 1 areas
Our robots are the new benchmark for inspecting and surveying potentially explosive facilities. ExRobotics is the only provider in the world that has an unique certification, allowing the robots to drive in explosive factories with an ATEX and IECEx Zone 1 certification. The robots are remote-controlled by an operator in a safe control room. This way the robot can inspect the site for any toxic gases, fugitive emissions and explosion hazard. If the robot detects one of these things, the robot automatically gives a signal to the operator in the control room. Then, the operator can take action and act appropriately to the limit of hazard.
Training your operators
When the robot is put into use, extensive training follows so that the operators know how to interact with the robot. Often, the operators will receive training by Iwan or Ian themselves. By using the robots, companies can save on personnel costs. This does not mean that operators are replaced by robots: operators can be deployed differently (retrained). Working with robots also increases safety in the workplace and operators are exposed to less danger. In addition, the robots work more efficiently and can be used very frequently to investigate the production site.
